The R.V. Khokhlov Contest for the best student thesis is traditionally held in January every year at the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University. Students of the faculty can participate in the contest with their scientific work: articles, diplomas, course papers, and other works that have been done independently and contain certain scientific results.
This year the faculty departments have put forward 24 diplomas written at a high level of scientific proficiency. Many of them are a good start for future candidate dissertations. The committee is faced by a particularly difficult choice. The high quality of the works considered has made it possible to reward 9 participants: 2 people have received first degree rewards, 3 have been given second degree rewards, and 4 have received third degree rewards.
Mikhail GORNOSTAYE V is receiving the first degree reward from N.N. Sisoyev, Dean of the Faculty of Physics.
Mikhail Igorevich GORNOSTAYEV, graduate of the Department of Astrophysics and Stellar Astronomy, has received a first degree reward and a 30 000 rub prize for his work «MODELLING A CONTINUOUS SPECTRUM OF TRANSIENT RONTGEN PULSARS» and Olga Sergeyevna Pavlova, graduate of the Department of Medical Physics for her work «MULTINUCLEAR MAGNETORESISTANCE VISUALIZATION OF FLUOROCARBON COMPOUNDS IN BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH».
Olga PAVLOVA, owner of a first degree reward, graduate of the Department of Medical Physics.
A second degree reward and a 20 000 rub prize has been given to Pavel Borisovich ROSNITSKY (Department of Acoustics), Kseniya Sergeyevna SVIRINA (Department of Nuclear Physics and Quantum Theory of Collisions) and Daniil Yevgheniyevich SHIPILO (Department of General Physics and Wave Processes).
A third degree reward and a 10 000 rub prize has been given to Veronika Alexandrovna GHEORGOBIANI (MSU Nanotechnology Education and Research Center), Alexey Valentinovich KUZNETSOV (Department of Atomic Physics, Plasma Physics and Microelectronics), Alexey Nikolayevich KUZMICHEV (Department of Photonics and Microwave Physics) and Andrey Olegovich ORLOV (Department of Mathematics).
